Terry Acuff's Barn in Washburn, Tennessee

4-Star was painted by Candy Barbee and is hung diagonally on the Terry Acuff Barn on Hwy 131 between Washburn and Hwy 25E in Grainger County.

"Not Barn Yesterday" Phase II, A Clothesline of Quilts in Appalachia" is a project of the Clinch-Powell RC&D and Clinch-Powell Enterprise Community. It is a driving route that winds through the valleys and mountains of beautiful East Tennessee showcasing quilt block murals painted on barns and buildings. The route was chosen for its potential draw to bring tourism into the rural counties and encourage economic development along its path. Barns and other buildings are decorated with 8'x8' or 4'X4' paintings of heritage quilt blocks with an emphasis on the Civil War era and other significant quilt patterns relevant to Tennessee history.
